our services

Ohio City Massage offers a variety of therapies.

Relaxation
Massage

Relaxation massage aids in relieving muscle tension, increasing blood circulation and promoting rest. Smooth and gentle Swedish style techniques are applied with a LIGHT to MEDIUM pressure in order to bring the body into a state of relaxation.

icon2

Deep Tissue
Massage

Designed to remove severe tension and trigger points, deep pressure is used to help improve range of motion and heal tension deep below the surface.

icon3

Cupping &
Massage

Injuries and overuse create an overabundance of toxic buildup that end up causing chronic pain felt deep inside the muscle tissue. Cups are used to apply negative pressure to draw out toxins, allowing the system to deliver fresh nutrients that the muscle desperately needs for cell repair. Massage is included in this session.

Thai
Massage

Assisted stretching session. Lengthening muscle tissue is important to the health and structure of the body. During a Thai Massage session, you remain fully clothed while laying on a mat on the ground. All you have to do is relax while your therapist takes you through a series of passive stretches. Wearing comfortable clothing allows you to get the most out of the stretching. Flexibility is not required, it is the goal!

Gua Sha
& Massage

Gua Sha is a technique that has been used for many years to manage pain associated with adhesions (scar tissue) under the skin and promote healing. This technique is excellent for conditions such as carpal tunnel, tendonitis and plantar fasciitis. Gua Sha is excellent for post surgical scar management, increased circulation, mobility and relief of inflammation. Massage is included in this session.

Headache and
Migraine Massage

Trigger points, also known as muscle knots, are often associated with headache and migraine pain. Trigger point therapy focuses on the release of tension around specific nerve centers found throughout your body. This session focuses on the head, neck, shoulders and back. Hot and cold therapies are included (towels, stones, pressure wraps, ice/heat packs).

Hot Stone
Massage

Used as an extension of the therapist’s hands, the use of heated massage stones induces deep relaxation and provides a unique experience many find to be tremendously calming.

icon8

Reflexology

Reflexology is a technique that focuses on specific pressure points within your feet to relieve pain throughout your body.

icon9

Prenatal
Massage

Pregnancy massage focuses on addressing the special needs of expecting mother. Wether you are dealing with an aching back, swollen ankels or stress about delivery, our licensed massage therapists will structure a session just right for you. Specially-designed cushions and side-lying postures are used to prevent putting pressure on the abdomen so we can serve you at any stage of your pregnancy.

Sports Massage

Decreasing muscle pain, lengthening muscle tissue, movement of joints and increasing circulation is the focus of sports massage. With a mix of deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy and stretch techniques, sports massage aids in muscle recovery and flexibility.

A sports massage session includes (if needed/requested) local treatment of Cupping or Gua Sha (Treatment to a specific area only. This is not a full Cupping or Gua Sha session). See service descriptions for more info on Cupping and Gua Sha.

Dry
Brushing

The lymphatic system helps your body fight off infections. Fluids flow through the system and are filtered through the lymph nodes. If you’re sick or exposed to a lot of toxins, the system may become backed up and clogged.

The course bristles on the brush stimulate the pores and opens them, which improves the skin’s ability to eliminate toxins when you sweat. The direction of the brushing follows the flow of the lymphatic system, pushing fluid to the lymph nodes.
